IN MEMORIAM: Sir Christopher Slade

Adrian Slade writes: After our brother Julian died in 2006 my eldest brother Christopher and I became trustees of the Julian Slade Estate which, in 2008, and with the full support of Christopher and the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, led to my son Rupert and I establishing  the now annual BOVTS Award for Musical Talent, now

in its 14th year. Chris, who sadly died on February 14 at the age of 95, was always a keen supporter of the  Bristol Old Vic Theatre,  the School  and Julian’s shows, eight of which started life in Bristol. A noted High Court Chancery Judge, Chris was highly respected in his profession. He was also much loved by his immediate family  and a large collection  of nephews, nieces and greats of all heights and sizes. We shall all miss him greatly
